Will Mexico’s Loss Be Costa Rica’s Gain?

Visitors spent US$22.5 billion in Mexico last year, but the Lopez Obrador government is apparently set to disband the Mexico Tourism Board and turn over responsibility for tourism promotion to Mexico’s embassies. This has Mexican tourism operators concerned, and is causing other regional countries, like Costa Rica, to wonder if this turn of events will benefit them.
